Roll up, roll up for MPG’s second birthday bash

It’s celebration time at Midpoint Garage! And what better way to mark the Vauxhall specialist’s second anniversary than with a big birthday bash!

As a thank you to our customers of the past, present and future, we’re throwing open our doors on Sunday 13 September for Vauxhall-based fun and festivities. Entry is free for everyone, and as a birthday present to you, we’re offering a whopping 25 per cent discount on all ECU remaps pre-booked to take place on the day.

The Midpoint Garage second anniversary open day will take place from 11am until 4pm. It will form the official unveiling of our all-new rolling road facility, offering tuning for any two-wheel-drive Vauxhall or Opel up to 500bhp. Power runs will take place throughout the day, and a prize will be offered for the event’s most powerful Vauxhall.

Last year’s excellent party attracted around 120 Vauxhall enthusiasts from around the UK, and this year we’re hoping for even more. Local and national Vauxhall clubs will be in attendance, forming individual and club displays including examples of Nova, Corsa, Astra, Vectra and Signum.

For a fun party atmosphere, we’ll have a buffet with hot and cold refreshments plus an F1 grand prix simulator and exclusive products on sale from the MPG shop.

Midpoint Garage is on a roll

Capable of handling cars with up to 500bhp, our new rolling road is perfect for almost any two-wheel-drive Vauxhall or Opel.

Aimed at attracting the attention of performance Vauxhall enthusiasts, our rolling road is suitable for engine tuning, remapping and diagnostics. For owners of modified Vauxhalls, a live mapping service is available to fine-tune your car’s performance characteristics. And our accurate dynamometer will provide a true reading of your Vauxhall’s power and torque figures.

Featuring a large high-velocity fan in a custom-built dyno cell, the rolling road has been specially calibrated in alignment with internally-respected engine tuning expert EDS Motorsport’s equipment in Germany. This ensures every Vauxhall upgrade at Midpoint Garage exactly matches EDS specifications.

Prices for a rolling road session at Midpoint Garage start at £65 (including VAT), while power runs at club-organised rolling road days cost £35 each (including VAT). Please contact us for an estimate for live mapping on our new rolling road.

Corsa VXR exhaust from MPG

Corsa VXR owners can benefit from bhp gains and a beautiful sound boost, with a choice of new premium-quality exhaust systems from Vauxhall specialist Midpoint Garage.

Custom-designed for the Corsa VXR, our stainless steel exhaust systems are expertly manufactured in the UK, featuring mandrel bends for maximum flow and top-notch pulse TIG welds. A choice of polished tailpipes is available, with round or triangular options.

MPG's Corsa VXR exhaust is offered as a cat-back system, full system with decat pipe or full system with 200-cell sports cat. Prices are £529.38 (fitted) for the Corsa VXR cat-back system, £954 (fitted) for the Corsa VXR full system with 200-cell sports cat, and £784 for the Corsa VXR turbo-back decat exhaust system; to run cat-free, Corsa VXRs also need an EDS software remap, costing an additional £480. All prices include VAT.

First to be revealed is a series of superb sports decat pipes designed to remove restrictions from Vauxhall exhausts, improving power and performance.

Available now for Corsa VXR, Astra VXR and all turbocharged Astras with Z20LET, Z20LEH, Z20LEL and Z20LER engines, our premium-quality decats are manufactured from high-grade stainless steel with mandrel bends for maximum flow and top-notch pulse TIG welds.

Happy birthday Midpoint Garage!

Vauxhall specialist Midpoint Garage and loads of loyal customers celebrated our first birthday in style, with an amazing anniversary open day.

Our Cheshire-based Vauxhall tuning, remapping and servicing workshop – which launched in 2007 – has become a staggering success, already highly respected among Vauxhall owners for providing expert service at excellent prices.

Sunday 14 September 2008 saw our doors opened wide for a brilliant birthday bash to welcome our past, present and future customers. Around 120 loyal Vauxhall fans came from nationwide to join in the festivities. Many took part in terrific club displays, including top-quality Vauxhalls from VXRonline, Astra Owners’ Network, Astra Owners’ Club, Exclusive VXR Owners’ Club and Vectra C/Signum Owners’ Club.

Party guests were also treated to a barbecue, hot and cold refreshments, kids’ bouncy castle and chance to race on a two-car Astra BTCC simulator, complete with Top Gear-style scoreboard and Stig. Our promo girls Charlotte and Chacha awarded trophies for the fastest drivers James and Conner.

Best of all, lucky prize draw winner – Astra VXR owner Mr Crilley – scooped a free EDS Motorsport engine remap to improve the power and responsiveness of his Vauxhall. Competition runners up were all offered substantial savings on the price of software upgrades, resulting in 11 Vauxhalls being remapped during the day.

Of course, our boss Ian Redgrave was on hand to chat with likeminded Vauxhall enthusiasts, proudly displaying MPG’s own collection of sporty Vauxhalls including an Astra GSi, an Astra Coupé (pumping out over 250bhp from its normally-aspirated 2.2 Vauxhall engine) and a Vectra VXR.

Happy birthday presents from MPG – win a remap!

Midpoint Garage is one year old! And to celebrate the Vauxhall specialist’s first year in business, MPG would like to say a big thank you to our loyal customers with an anniversary open day.

As an extra-special gift, one lucky Vauxhall owner will win a free EDS Motorsport engine remap, worth up to £480*. Suitable for most Vauxhall models, remapping provides proven performance gains, making cars faster, more responsive and even improving fuel economy.

MPG’s big birthday bash will be held on Sunday 14 September 2008 from 11am until 4pm. Midpoint Garage is hoping to gather huge numbers of Vauxhall and Opel owners from nationwide, forming individual and club displays – including the Novas, Corsas, Astras, Vectras and Signums who’ve already confirmed their attendance.

As well as all the Vauxhalls, we will have products on sale from Autoglym and the MPG shop, a two-car Astra BTCC simulator with prizes for the fastest drivers plus Top Gear-style scoreboard and Stig. For the full party atmosphere, there will also be a barbecue, hot and cold refreshments and a bouncy castle for the kids.

* Please note that in order to receive the remap, the winner must be present at Midpoint Garage when the draw is made at around 12.30pm on 14 September. If not, the draw will be remade, and the prize awarded to another lucky Vauxhall owner. A remap will only be performed to a vehicle that is mechanically sound. Some remapping software requires 24 hours’ notice, and we may need the winner to rebook an appointment at their convenience. In the unlikely event of any additional work being required to the recipient’s car in order to receive the remap, it will be chargeable at the normal Midpoint Garage rate. The judge’s decision is final and there is no cash alternative.

PV 2008 a resounding success

Midpoint Garage would like to say a big thank you to everyone who visited us at the Performance Vauxhall Show 2008.

If you were one of the hundreds of sun-baked show-goers who came over to say hello and have a natter about Vauxhalls, we hope you gained a good impression of our helpfulness and commitment to giving great service to you and your Vauxhall.

And if you only came over to check out the Midpoint Garage stand, we hope the Vauxhalls on display gave you a firm idea of our high-quality workmanship and Vauxhall tuning skills. The Astra GSi, Vectra ST, Astravan, Astra Coupés, Astra hatch and VX220 Turbo all belong to us and our loyal customers, and we'd like to say an extra special thanks to those who brought along their stunning Vauxhalls for the show.

EDS software puts MPG on the re-map

Vauxhall drivers in northern England can now benefit from top-quality EDS Motorsport engine tuning and remapping at Midpoint Garage (MPG).
Until recently, Vauxhall owners had to travel hundreds of miles to experience such well-developed performance gains, meaning loads of time and expense. Now it’s just a case of popping along to our workshop in Middlewich, Cheshire. Here, virtually any Vauxhall can be tweaked to improve drivability, power and even economy.
EDS Motorsport is a highly-respected German tuner, specialising in Opel/Vauxhall upgrades. The majority of EDS modifications are made to a car‘s ECU (engine control unit), which is usually a case of rewriting the factory software. This means a quick, clean and easily reversible job that optimises the engine without detrimental effects. Most models gain noticeable power increases – by up to 50bhp on turbo diesels.

MPG shows how it’s done

Midpoint Garage got the show on the road, with our first ever national open day.

All Vauxhall and Opel owners and enthusiasts were invited to our exciting event, which took place in and around our new workshop in Middlewich, Cheshire.

Car clubs from across the country attended the meeting, including the Vectra C/Signum Owners' Club, Vauxhall Vectra Owners’ Club, Vauxhall Sports Car Club, Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association and Zlet.co.uk. Members brought along almost 40 immaculate motors, with restored and modified examples of the Vauxhall Astra, Corsa, Vectra, Signum, Zafira, Cavalier and Omega on display.

Star of the show was the awesome VXR8 of James Laurence, which rubbed shoulders with John Roberts’s mint Vectra Super Touring and a superb Vectra i500.

Mike Ridgway’s black Astra Coupé Turbo won the show ’n’ shine contest competition for cleanest car of the day. Mike was awarded with an Autoglym pack, presented by MPG’s pair of promo girls.

Other attractions on the day included trade stands, refreshments and family fun on a bouncy castle.
